2.4 Versions Data

Due to the evolution of the business requirements expressed in the L4 models, the Application and Authorisation data structure has been updated several times. The first version of the CDS was aligned to the third reading of the legislation (UCC IA/DA) while the second version of the CDS is aligned with the adopted version of the legislation of September 2016.

A new GUM compliant version is implemented in CDS 1.32, specifically and only for the Comprehensive Guarantee (CGU) customs decision type.

The processes already running (V1) at the Go-Live of the new aligned version of CDS had to continue under the process model of the first version – for both technical and business reasons. These processes have been finalised in close collaboration with the MSs. All business processes now follow the V2 rules.

Similarly, any new action triggered on a CGU Application/Authorisation under the V2 Specific Information format might lead to updating its format to the new GUM compliant format.

It is worth noting that, because there were two versions of the system, there may be discrepancies between the V1 and V2 behaviours in the user interface, e.g., on the Notifications List Page, both the Application and Customs Decision Reference Numbers are shown for notifications on Authorisation in V2, while only the Customs Decision Reference Number was shown in V1.
