6.2 Excel Templates for the Mass Upload
Mass upload templates are available for several data groups where it might be required to register a large amount of records. It is possible to use the mass upload functionality for the following data groups; the applicable Customs Decision Types are mentioned for each data group.
- Goods: available for CVA, DPO, CCL, EIR, SAS, SDE, TST, CW (CW1, CW2, CWP), EUS, IPO, OPO and TEA.
- Location of Goods: available for AWB, CCL, EIR, SAS, ACE, ACR and ACT.
- Processed Products: available for IPO, OPO and EUS.
- Place(s) of Processing or Use: available for IPO, OPO, EUS and TEA.
- Owner of the Goods: available for TEA.
The Excel templates to be filled in for the mass entry fields in an Application or Authorisation are directly generated by the system itself.
Please do not use the version 1 templates, as they are not working for this new version of the system.
An important change compared to version 1 is that when you import several templates, each new template will overwrite the old one, instead of appending the data. Be careful that the last template contains all the information you want to upload.
6.2.1 Managing thousands of entries
If you wish to enter a large number of goods / location of goods (e.g., more than one thousand entries), you may face troubles when submitting the data into the system. Too heavy data will greatly impact the processing time and might even be refused by the system.
If a large amount of goods / location of goods needs to be registered, please follow the next recommendations:
- Avoid long texts in the free-texts fields,e.g., goods descriptions. Consider for example using attachments containing the “complete” lists;
- Avoid unnecessary goods descriptions;
- Upload / submit the data outside of busy hours whenever possible;
- Note that the performance depends on the browser. It would be more efficient to use Firefox, followed by Chrome and lastly Edge Chromium.
